Is Vacation Photos free?+
Yes. Vacation Photos is free on the App Store. The current version has no ads, no in-app purchases and no account.
How does trip detection work?+
The app reads the location and date of each photo. Photos taken more than 50 miles from your home location are grouped into trips by place and date.
Does Vacation Photos upload my photos?+
Not to organize them: trip detection and sorting run on your iPhone. Photos are uploaded only if you choose to share a trip. The photos in that trip are resized and stored in Apple iCloud so the people you send the link to can see them.
What permissions does the app need?+
Access to your photo library to find your trip photos, and a one-time location check to set your home location. You can turn either off in Settings at any time.
Can I share a trip with family?+
Yes. Share a trip with a link, and the people you send it to can view it without installing the app.
Does it work with photos from any camera?+
It works with any photo in your iPhone library that has location data, whether it was taken on the iPhone or imported from another camera.
Which devices does it run on?+
iPhone with iOS 15.1 or later. The App Store also lists it as compatible with iPad and iPod touch.
